General Powell retired as a four-star general and served for 35 years in the United States Army. General Powell served as U.S. National Security Advisor, Commander of the U.S. Army Forces
Command, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. General Powell is the recipient of numerous U.S. military awards as well as two Presidential Medals of Freedom.
General Powell is the Founder and Chairman Emeritus of the America’s Promise Alliance, dedicated to forging strong and effective partnerships providing resources for children’s success.
General Powell holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geology from City College of New York, (CCNY) and participated in ROTC there receiving a commission as an army second lieutenant. Powell also has an MBA from George Washington University.
