The film, which has a runtime of an hour and a half, premiered on Disney + early Friday morning and was directed and executive produced by Beyoncé. It includes songs from The Lion King: The Gift and was made for "today's young kings and queens in search of their own crowns,” Disney + said in a statement according to CNN. In the enchanting film, the artist takes viewers on a journey through the motherland and beyond while presenting stunning visuals and bringing artists like Pharrell , Kelly Rowland and Jessie Reyez along for the ride.
