Local Buffalo News Station (WIVB) confirmed Friday that 57 total police officers from the Buffalo Emergency Response Team division have resigned.
The mass resignation came in response to two Buffalo police officers being suspended for shoving 75-year-old Martin Gugino to the ground.
Viral videos surfaced Thursday of Gugino bleeding from the back of his head after being shoved, and the police officer wanting to help Gugino, but was quickly grabbed to keep going.
The 57 police officers have resigned in support of the two suspended police officers without pay.
The Buffalo police continue to actively work with the New York State Police and other cooperating agencies.”
