Dr. Maya Angelou First Black Honoree For the American Women Quarters Program %

Dr. Sally Ride and Maya Angelou will be the first honorees in the American Women Quarters Program. The Mint said that quarter-dollar coins with reverse (tails) designs emblematic of the accomplishments and contributions of a prominent American woman will be circulated, beginning in January 2022.
