A T-shirt branded with the image of ex-cop Derek Chauvin with his knee on the neck of George Floyd was for a short time up for sale on Amazon, but has since been pulled off.
The shirts were sold for $14.99 as part of other paraphernalia marketed in the spirit of the Black Lives Matter moment.
The video of 46-year-old Floyd killed while being restrained on May 26 by Minneapolis police officers sparked outrage after showing ex-officer Chauvin kneeling on his neck for close to nine minutes until Floyd became unresponsive.
Even when he became unresponsive while pinned to the ground, the white police officer did not remove his knee from the victim’s neck until paramedics arrived.
From Minnesota to Madrid, protest marches have taken place as part of an unprecedented spread of the Black Lives Matter movement since Floyd’s death.
