AFRO Subscriber Celebrates 100th Birthday | Afro

Marcus Goodsil Stansbury Sr, was born in Baltimore, Md. to Mary and Clayton Stansbury on May 14, 1920.

His family moved to Havre de Grace, Md. when he was young.

Marcus attended the Havre de Grace Colored School during his formative years and graduated in 1937.

After his time at Howard he moved back to Havre de Grace where he eventually landed a civilian job working at Aberdeen Proving Ground as an electronic technician and retired in 1972.

Marcus Jr. lives in Aberdeen, Md. with his wife Cheretta, and his daughter, Sharon lives in Lithonia, Ga.
