Pennsylvania’s number of infections reached 77,313 on Thursday, a single-day increase of 467 cases, health department officials announced.
Nursing home and personal care facilities have reported 19,228 total cases of COVID-19 across the state, with 16,357 residents and 2,871 employees contracting the virus.
Allegheny County is among 45 counties that have reported infections within a total of 627 facilities.
Nearly 70% of the state’s reported deaths, or 4,215, have been among those who reside in nursing homes and personal care facilities.
Allegheny County’s total number of COVID-19 infections went up to 2,055 on Thursday, an increase of 21 cases from the day before.
