On June 9, high school students gathered at Veterans Park in Culver City for a high schoolers for Black Lives Matter march.
The students marched from the park to the Los Angeles Police Department’s Pacific Division Station, 12312 Culver Blvd.
A group of people protesting against police brutality slept the night June 8 in Grand Park, across the street from Los Angeles City Hall, as more protest marches and rallies were planned throughout the city.
According to City Manager John Nachbar, members of the Culver City Police Department worked round the clock over several days patrolling the city and trying to prevent looting.
“The women and men of the Culver City Police Department continually strive to not only provide the highest level of public safety to our community, but to do so in a manner that is compassionate, professional, and is reflective of the diverse community we serve,” Bixby said.
