Anindya Kundu is a sociologist and Senior Fellow at the CUNY Graduate Center. He studies the social and cultural contexts that allow youth from challenging backgrounds to thrive. Anindya's book, "The Power of Student Agency" comes out through Teachers College Press in 2020. He received his Ph.D in Sociology of Education at NYU, where he was mentored by Pedro Noguera and Angela Duckworth. He taught courses at NYU including, "American Dilemmas: Race, Inequality, and the Unfulfilled Promise of Public Education," and received the NYU "Outstanding Teaching Award." His work has appeared in NPR Education, MSNBC, and he has given two official TED Talks, each with more than 1 Million views.
